Shin Yuu @ Greenwood Ave

Cosy little restaurant in the quiet neighbourhood of Greenwood. Took my friend here for her birthday celebration and we were delighted with the affordable a la carte buffet dishes, especially the beef cubes and prawn tempura. The sashimi was quite nice. Lovely staff members who were very sweet throughout our meal. Will definitely plan a revisit.

For a Japanese restaurant offering a buffet lunch at around $50 per person including GST and service charge, it sounds like a fair deal. The quality of fresh sashimi is commendable, although the slices is a bit small. The presence of a varied selection of sake adds to the experience, catering to aficionados of Japanese beverages. The ambiance, while small, seems to create a pleasant dining atmosphere, enhancing the overall experience. The friendliness of the staff is always a plus, contributing to a welcoming environment. However, it's worth noting that additional charges for ice cream and green tea might catch some diners off guard, potentially affecting the perceived value of the meal. Overall, it seems like a decent choice for those seeking a reasonably priced Japanese buffet with fresh offerings and a cozy setting, despite minor considerations about Sashimi slice sizes and extra charges for certain items.

Dined in for dinner on a Wednesday night. Food was admittedly fresh and sashimi quality was good. However, the price performance ratio and the selection of food availabile were significantly inferior compared to Shin Yuu's competitors e.g., Mitsuba, Ikoi, Himawari or Irodori restaurants. $59.90++ for dinner amounted to about $72 per pax for the meal. Definitely not worth it for the money spent. Will not return. Not recommended.

Location: In the middle of landed residential area, not very convenient. Need walk 10-15 minutes from nearest MRT TKK Payment Type: Paynow or Cash Service: Quick and attentive. They keep clearing the plates and refilling the iced green tea. Need to prompt to refill for hot green tea. Restaurant Capacity: Total of 5 tables, cosy restaurant. It was full house on a saturday afternoon so I guess always call ahead to reserve a table. How to order: When we were first seated down, staff informed to access the menu and order online via QR code. What I like about their online menu, is that it indicates how many slices of sashimi per quantity. It would be great if able to indicate the same for other items like prawn tempura and grilled cheese hotate~~ Food wise, it was delicious! Personally i enjoyed the sashimi - thick and fresh, fried veggy tempura (excluding carrot which im just not a fan of) and grilled mushroom.

Visited on Sunday evening, booked 1 week in advance. Wide selection of dishes. Order assorted sashimi for the first time comes with complementary items such as hotate, otoro and salmon belly. The sushi is bite size (smaller than usual sushi) Grilled beef cube is quite nice :D Service wise is just ok.. think they are a bit too busy. It could be difficult to get their attention at times

Personally I enjoyed their food for their price. Everything was nice except the fact that they were understaffed, so the beef & scallop, and even a simple soft shell crab sushi we ordered only arrived 40 mins into the buffet, when the buffet duration is 2 hours. Also, they forgot a few of our orders so we had to remind them many times. I think this should be improved

The sashimi dem fresh, the tuna sashimi where most restaurant that serve have that slight blood taste, this restaurant have only the slightest of that taste. The sashimi like melts in your mouth. The chawamushi is super smooth, combined with the fish roe, it's drinking down egg with the essence of ocean. The chicken yakitori is very tender and flavorful. The wafu beef steak is super juicy, tender and flavorful. The prawn omelette, interesting combination, juicy prawn combined with eggs. Please make a reservation before coming down as they have a very limited seating capacity. Parking will also be a problem as the place is located at a residential area. Please do visit if you love sashimi, as you won't be disappointed.
